In a goal that could earn Puskás Award consideration, Atlas defender Matheus Doria delivered a stunning standing scorpion kick strike off a corner, sparking a dramatic comeback against Club Tijuana. With Atlas trailing 3-1, the Brazilian’s acrobatic finish shifted the momentum, leading to a 4-3 victory at Estadio Caliente on March 9.

Atlas FC pulled off a stunning comeback against Club Tijuana in Liga MX. Tijuana jumped to a 3-0 lead with goals from Jose Murillo, Jhojan Julio, and Jesus Grijalva, but Atlas turned the tide with Doria’s spectacular standing scorpion kick off a corner. Serbian striker Uros Djurdjevic then stole the show, scoring a hat-trick in just 18 minutes to seal a dramatic 4-3 victory. The win lifted Atlas to 13th in the table, while Tijuana remained at the bottom.

Following their incredible comeback victory, Atlas has climbed to 13th on the Liga MX table which puts some gap between them and the bottom of the table. They face second-place Club America next at the Jalisco Stadium before going on the road to face Mazatlan on March 16 and 29 respectively.
