Everton can’t really catch a break at the moment.
Indeed, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Leicester City on Sunday afternoon courtesy of a late, late VAR call. And they had entered the clash at the King Power Stadium off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to struggling Norwich City.
Everton’s next four in the league are against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, which is not exactly great when they are looking for points.

And it was announced on Monday that the Toffees had been drawn to play their Merseyside rivals in the third round of the FA Cup at the start of January.
The news did not go down well with a number of their fans.
Some of the fans are convinced that their side are cursed – just when they needed a run in the FA Cup to build up some momentum, they were drawn with arguably the best team in England at the moment if not the whole of Europe in last season’s Champions League winners.

Some others went a step further and claimed that the club should just call it quits after being drawn against their bitter rivals.
Calling for a club to be liquidated has become fairly common practice on social media, although it would be fairly extreme for Everton to throw away a 141-year history just because they face a third-round FA Cup tie with their biggest enemies, who just so happen to be absolutely flying.
Everton fans, meanwhile, have recently claimed that they do not want this Premier League manager to replace under-fire head coach Marco Silva.
