Ronaldo raised eyebrows after Al-Nassr's final game of the season by posting a message on Instagram that has been widely interpreted as a farewell to current club Al-Nassr. The Portugal superstar wrote: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."

The 40-year-old now has "two serious options" to consider, according to Foot Mercato. The first is to actually stay at Al-Nassr and sign a new contract at the club. Yet Ronaldo is also wanted by Saudi rivals Al-Hilal who are eager to sign a big-name replacement for Neymar, following his departure in the winter. Al-Hilal could also offer Ronaldo the chance to play at the upcoming Club World Cup which could well tempt the 40-year-old to make the switch.
