Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has delivered his latest set of Premier League predictions ahead of the weekend’s fixtures, and has chosen to compare reportedly incoming Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti to 2016 champion Claudio Ranieri.
What did he say?
Nicholas was speaking ahead of the Toffees’ clash with Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday, which incidentally he thinks the hosts will win in what is likely to be Duncan Ferguson’s last match in caretaker charge before the 60-year-old Italian takes to the helm, as per The Telegraph.
The Scot believes that the former Napoli boss is an “intriguing signing” for the Blues, and believes he actually has an advantage over Ranieri, who of course won a shock title with Leicester City as recently as three years ago.

He wrote: ‘He is a stylish and well-respected gentleman, much like Claudio Ranieri, with an even better winning mentality. He gives players respect and he wants respect back by them giving him everything they have.’
Big claim
They are certainly some big words from Nicholas, but when you look at what Ancelotti has achieved and won during his managerial career you would have to agree with the former Gunners star.
The Italian has lifted three Champions Leagues as well as succeeding with top flight titles in England – with Chelsea – Italy, Germany and France during his time in the dugout.
He is the calibre of coach that should be able to bring success to Everton as long as he is backed in the right way and those on the board listen to his demands and suggestions, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.
